A New Way to Access Dermatology Care in Annapolis
WellAve provides high quality dermatology care through mobile clinics and telemedicine, resulting in care that is convenient and more accessible for patients
Annapolis, MD (August 8, 2017) – WellAve, a health care company focused on revolutionizing the delivery of dermatology care, is very pleased to announce the opening of our new dermatology practice in Annapolis, Maryland. Long time Annapolis resident Erin Delaney Brimhall, MSN, CRNP, will lead the practice.
WellAve offers patients convenient full-service dermatology care through mobile clinics and telemedicine. Our mobile dermatology clinics are held at various locations in the community such as medical practices, senior living facilities and employer worksites. Some of our mobile clinics are reserved for the residents or employees of the host location while others are open to the public.
Brimhall leverages more than 15 years in clinical and cosmetic dermatology in the Annapolis community. She earned her Bachelors and Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland, and is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as nurse practitioner. In practice, she focuses on adult dermatologic care including skin disease, acne, skin disorders, cosmetics, and skin cancer. Brimhall is an active member of the Annapolis community and participates in many charities and events to promote healthy skin and skin cancer awareness. Her patients praise her for providing quality care with a caring, personable demeanor.
“I am thrilled to be bringing a new model of dermatology care to the Annapolis area,” said Brimhall. “With mobile clinics held in multiple locations and telemedicine, WellAve makes it easier for patients to take charge of their dermatology care and receive the screenings and care they need. It can take months to schedule a dermatology appointment but the cost of waiting is not just inconvenient, it can impact much more. I am glad to offer a convenient alternative for patients.”
The time is right for WellAve to offer easier access to dermatology care. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, skin cancer rates have been rising over the past few decades. One in five Americans will develop skin cancer during their lifetime. In fact, one person dies of melanoma every hour. Each year there are more new cases of skin cancer than the combined incidence of cancers of the breast, prostate, lung, and colon. Over the past three decades, more people have had skin cancer than all other cancers combined. This skin cancer epidemic is compounded by a lack of access to dermatology care. A shortage of dermatologists has led to wait times for dermatology appointments as high as 123 days.
WellAve Annapolis currently provides recurring mobile dermatology clinics at the following locations:
- 116 Defense Highway, Suite 102, Annapolis, MD 21401
- 7704 Quarterfield Rd, Suite E, Glen Burnie, MD 21061
