Dr. Harrington

Dr. Allan Harrington, MD, FAAD, FACMS - Board-Certified Mohs Surgeon and Dermatologist

Medical Director

Dr. Allan Harrington is one of the most experienced skin cancer surgeons on the East Coast. After graduating from Harvard University and Dartmouth Medical School, he completed his dermatology residency at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center, followed by a 2-year fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery at Tuft’s New England Medical Center. Dr Harrington was the former director of cutaneous surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and associate professor at Johns Hopkins. He has published several articles and textbook chapters on skin cancer and continues to actively research and lecture to advance the field of cutaneous surgery. In his free time, Dr Harrington is an avid runner and cyclist who enjoys competing in triathlons.

LauraMarquart

Laura Marquart, M.D., FAAD
Board Certified Dermatologist

Dr. Marquart is a graduate of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and completed her dermatology residency training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and National Naval Medical Center.  She is a Board-Certified Dermatologist and served 15 years in the U.S. Army.  She has served on the faculty at Walter Reed, USUHS, and Texas A&M. She distinguished herself as the Dermatology Consultant to the Office of the Attending Physician at the U.S. Capitol.   She also has worked in teledermatology, private practice, and is a former medical officer at the FDA.

Dr. Kirk Volker

Kirk M. Volker, M.D., FAAD
Board Certified Dermatologist

A Board Certified Dermatologist, Dr. Volker graduated from Kansas State University and Hood College, where he received his Bachelor of Science and Masters degrees, respectively. During this time he was a member of the collegiate honor society Phi Kappa Phi and earned the Student Cancer Research Award.

Dr. Volker went on to University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where he received his medical degree and became a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He then completed his medicine internship at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, and his dermatology residency at the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine.

Dr. Volker has coauthored numerous journal articles in publications such as: the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, the Journal of Immunology, and the American Journal of Pathology. His focus is on medical and surgical dermatology, with a special interest in the detection and treatment of skin cancers such as basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. Dr. Volker looks forward to seeing you soon at his new Hagerstown office.

Kara Hoverson

Kara Hoverson, M.D., FAAD, FACMS

Dr. Kara Hoverson is board certified dermatologist and fellowship trained mohs surgeon.  She graduated magna cum laude from North Dakota State University with a BS in microbiology and continued her graduate education in virology. She graduated at the top of her class from the Chicago Medical School. She then completed her intern year at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii followed by dermatology residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. She spent a year working as a general dermatologist at WRNMMC where she was selected for fellowship training. She did a combined American College of Mohs surgery (ACMS) and American society for dermatologic surgery (ASDS) fellowship at Skincare Physicians in Chestnut Hill, MA training under Dr. Thomas Rohrer.

Dr. Bayer-Garner

Ilene Bayer-Garner, M.D., FASDP
Dermatopathologist

Dr. Bayer-Garner is a board certified dermatopathologist with 19 years of experience reading skin pathology specimens. She completed her fellowship training at Baylor Medical Center in Houston, Texas, which included twice-weekly melanocytic lesion conferences at MD Anderson Medical Center. She is a Fellow of the American Society of Dermatopathology. Dr. Bayer-Garner has authored numerous journal articles in the field of Dermatopathology and is the recipient of the 2002 F. Steven Fogel Award. She resides in Severna Park with her husband and children. Her hobbies include “Do it Yourself” projects, reading, and spending time with family.

Erin Brimhall

Erin Delaney Brimhall, MSN, CRNP

Erin Brimhall is a seasoned Nurse Practitioner and a respected leader in the field of dermatology, bringing over 25 years of expertise in both clinical and cosmetic dermatology.

Erin's academic journey began at the University of Maryland, where she earned her Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree, setting the foundation for her passion in healthcare. She continued her pursuit of knowledge and earned both her Master of Science (M.S.) and Nurse Practitioner (N.P.) degrees from the same esteemed institution.

Throughout her distinguished career, Erin has focused on adult dermatologic care, demonstrating a commitment to the comprehensive management of chronic skin diseases, acne, various skin disorders, and the treatment and prevention of skin cancers. Her depth of experience extends to the realm of cosmetic procedures, where she has honed her skills in providing aesthetic enhancements while ensuring natural and balanced results.

Erin's patient-focused approach is evident in her dedication to ensuring not only the efficacy of treatments but also the overall satisfaction of every individual under her care. Her compassionate demeanor and commitment to open communication contribute to an environment where patients feel heard, supported, and confident in their dermatological care.

Molly Warnock

Molly Warnock, MMS, DMSc, PA-C

Molly Warnock, MMS, DMSc, PA-C is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park and received her Master of Medical Science Degree from North Greenville University, Physician Assistant Medicine program. Molly also completed her doctorate degree, Doctor of Medical Science, from the University of Lynchburg. Prior to completing the PA program, Molly worked as a surgical assistant in Mohs Surgery. Under the direction of Dr. Allan Harrington, she assisted in the surgical removal and repair of over 8,000 challenging skin cancers and rare tumors. Molly now specializes in the surgical removal and management of both malignant and benign cutaneous lesions; treated thousands since joining WellAve in 2019. Her passion for this field has been well highlighted throughout her training as she has been working in dermatology for over 10 years. Molly is licensed by the State of Maryland and nationally certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She is a Diplomate Fellow, Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Professional memberships include the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), the Maryland Academy of Physician Assistants (MdAPA) and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA).

Danielle

Danielle Costabile, MPAS, PA-C

Danielle is a graduate of Towson University, Magna Cum Laude, and received her Master of Physician Assistant Studies Degree from Towson University, Physician Assistant program. She served as the Class President of her Physician Assistant program and a member of the Pi Alpha Honor Society. Notably, she graduated in the top 5% of her class from Towson University’s Physician Assistant program. Danielle has mentored closely under Erin Brimhall, CRNP for several years where they treated patients hand-and-hand. Additionally, she assisted Dr. Allan Harrington in the surgical removal and repair of challenging skin cancers and rare tumors for an abundance of cases. Danielle Costabile is licensed by the State of Maryland and nationally certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Danielle’s smile, passion for delivering patient care, and ability to make a patient feel at ease complement WellAve’s mission and culture.

Danielle resides on Maryland’s Eastern Shore with her fiancé Brandon. She loves to spend time with her fiancé, family, and two French bulldogs Hammie and Juliet.

Catalina Lehrer

Catalina Lehrer, MMS, PA-C

Catalina Lehrer, MMS, PA-C received her physician assistant certification from Anne Arundel Community College while concurrently receiving her Master's of Medical Science degree from Saint Francis University. Prior to that, she worked as a physician assistant in the specialty field of obstetrics and gynecology.

Catalina practiced as a dermatology physician assistant for numerous years prior to joining Well Ave Dermatology. She was privileged to train under Dr. Allan Harrington in dermatology surgery. Catalina remains nationally certified and is licensed by the state of Maryland. Professional memberships include American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), the Maryland Academy of Physician Assistants (AdAPA), the Maryland Dermatologic Society (MDS), the Maryland Academy of Physician Assistants (MAPA) and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA). She is currently practicing general dermatology under the supervision of Dr. Kirk Volker and is thrilled to be part of the Well Ave Dermatology team. She resides in Anne Arundel County, Maryland with her husband and two children.

Brandon Terry

Brandon Terry, MMS, PA-C

Brandon Terry, MMS, PA-C is a graduate of James Madison University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and graduated with honors. He then went on to obtain his Master of Medical Science Degree from Arcadia University, Physician Assistant program. He is licensed in the state of Maryland and is nationally certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants. 

Brandon started his career off at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland. Here, he worked directly on the Trauma Team where he treated life threatening injuries and developed his passion for surgery. After years of assisting in the operating room, most notably in orthopedics, and developing his surgical skills, he discovered his strong interest in dermatology.

He has additional training under Dr. Allan Harrington, treating complex skin cancers, tumors, and dermatological disease. Brandon strives to be an advocate for his patients and help create individualized treatment plans for a variety of both medical and surgical skin conditions. 

Brandon grew up on the Eastern Shore, where he still resides with his wife and family. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, sports, and fly fishing.

Christina de Leon

Christina DeLeon, MMS, PA-C

Christina is a highly skilled and board certified Physician Assistant in dermatology. As a graduate from Clemson University with a Bachelors in Biological Sciences, she went on to complete her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at CUNY School of Medicine. During her time in PA school, she served as Secretary of the Student Society of AAPA at CUNY, was awarded the Scientific Writing Award for her master thesis on HPV testing, and graduated at the top of her class. Christina’s passion for dermatology was ignited during her rigorous, hands-on training in low income hospitals and under-served areas of New York City, where she honed her skills in diagnosing and treating a wide range of dermatological conditions.

After PA school, Christina began working in Dermatology after completing a 6-month training fellowship under two board-certified Dermatologists on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. She enhanced her training by becoming a Diplomate Fellow through the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.  Christina works with patients of all ages, from children to seniors, addressing various skin concerns. She takes special interest in treating acne, complex skin cancers, and educating patients on preventive measures. Christina believes in a patient-centered approach to care and she tailors her treatment plans to suit your specific needs and goals.

Christina resides in Annapolis with her husband, son, and dog, Whaler. You can find her outdoors or in the kitchen cooking and baking for friends and family.

Cheri Cartagena

Cheri Cartagena, PA-C

Cheri Cartagena, PA-C is a resolute and compassionate healthcare professional with a rich and varied background. She began her academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition in 2001, demonstrating her early commitment to health and wellness. In 2004, she became a certified medical assistant, and her passion for patient care led her to pursue a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies, which she obtained in 2008.

Cheri’s extensive experience as a physician assistant spans multiple specialties and settings. She honed her skills during three years in urgent care and emergency medicine, where she developed a calm and decisive approach to patient care. Her career then expanded into general, vascular, trauma, bariatric, and robotic surgery over the next decade, showcasing her versatility and expertise in complex medical fields. For the past three years, Cheri has channeled her knowledge and compassion into dermatology, where she excels in delivering personalized and effective treatments.

Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and licensed to practice in Maryland and West Virginia, Cheri is unwavering in her commitment to excellence. She brings a warm and empathetic approach to every patient interaction, ensuring that each individual receives the highest quality of care. Noelle

Noelle Fracyon, Aesthetic R.N.

Noelle Fracyon is a highly specialized aesthetic nurse with vast knowledge in the use of fillers (Juvederm, Radiesse, Voluma, Restylane) and injectables (Botox, Xeomin and Dysport). A graduate from Loyola University of Maryland in Marketing and Management and The Union Memorial School of Nursing, she started her nursing career almost 30 years ago in the hospital setting. She worked her way to the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, caring for post-operative Open Heart patients and ICU patients. The ability to stay focused in an acute care situation and keep a steady head and hand was the perfect training for her future in aesthetics. Noelle has spent the last 15 years working exclusively in the aesthetic field. She has found facial aesthetics and lasers to be her niche and finds it both challenging and rewarding. She is a natural look specialist whose passion for the art of aesthetic nursing drives her desire to learn about the newest techniques and products available. She makes sure that each patient’s goals are understood and achieved with great success. Noelle is the President of The Raskob Foundation, a non-profit charitable group, and is active with many local boards and organizations in our community. She lives in Annapolis with her three beautiful children.
