Bharath Balu FAAD, MD, PhD
Board Certified Dermatologist
Bharath Balu, PhD, MD, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist with advanced training in dermatology, micrographic (Mohs) surgery, and dermatologic oncology. He earned his MD from Northeast Ohio Medical University, completed an Internal Medicine residency at Tower Health Reading Hospital, and went on to complete his Dermatology residency and Mohs surgery fellowship at Geisinger Health System. He also holds a PhD in Infectious Diseases from the University of Notre Dame and a Master’s in Medical Biotechnology.
Dr. Balu served as chief resident and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He has authored 30+ peer-reviewed publications and holds a U.S. patent related to malaria research. He is an active member of several national dermatology organizations and is committed to advancing patient care.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and exploring new cuisines.
